Wool felt from alpaca
With its excellent properties, alpaca fibre is also interesting for the manufacture of felt products. As alpaca fibres are very fine and have a smooth surface, sheep's wool is added to achieve better felting. This gives the product good durability and stability.
Products made from alpaca are durable and hardwearing. Nevertheless, the material remains soft and supple and has a natural lustre that gives the products a particularly elegant appearance. Alpaca fibres hardly absorb any everyday odours and retain their neutral smell. The thermo-regulating properties of alpaca fibre play a particularly important role in our insoles. It ensures that both cold and heat are well balanced. In addition, thanks to the slightly springy fibre, the insoles are particularly soft and comfortable to wear.
The alpaca fibre for our wool felt products comes from animals from predominantly small and medium-sized farms in Austria and Germany, and 100% of the virgin wool comes from Austria. Our wool felt, which contains 50-70% alpaca fibre, is produced in Austria and Germany.
During the manufacturing process, the natural and unbleached wool is felted, resulting in the mottled brown colour. As this is a purely natural product, colour variations may occur.
